Best answer: i just recently purchased a pixma and while reading reviews i did come across someone saying if that happened to hold down the stop button (the one with the red triangle) for about 5-10 seconds and that will over ride it. i couldn't test it as all my inks are full and removing a cartridge completely disables the printer..
